I welcome the greater profile afforded to issues of most concern to our Aboriginal communities - and especially the targets focused on early years and development that will contribute significantly to Aboriginal wellbeing in years to come.

| Print |

New technology designed to reduce electricity consumption, gas emissions and waste, and to encourage water savings, will be key sustainability features of the Lochiel Park development - South Australia’s emerging “Green Village” and a world leading model in sustainable design.

These initiatives to encourage greener living will be showcased by the Green Village. More information about them is now available on the Lochiel Park website.

The website is a valuable resource for people wanting to find out more about leading edge targets and initiatives around water savings, energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions, landscaping and waste reduction.

Available on the website are urban design guidelines which set new benchmarks for others to follow.

This resource will help inform the public and the development industry about what is achievable when undertaking a land development.

The Lochiel Park Green Village will achieve substantial improvements in the way land developments and homes are built resulting in reductions in water use, greenhouse gas emissions and energy use.  Lochiel Park is a model green village by world standards and is another example of South Australia leading the way on sustainability.
