Your opportunity to help develop a local expression of South Australia's Strategic PlanDuring May and June members of the Community Engagement Board were on the road talking to regional communities about regional priorities. Public forums were held in Murray and Mallee, Yorke and mid North, Far North and Eyre and Western regions so that local communities can begin identifying those targets that are seen as priorities for their areas. The Board will now begin the process for Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island regions over the next 6 months. The 12 RegionsOne of the first recommendations from the Government Reform Commission was a set of 12 regions: four in metropolitan Adelaide, three in the greater Adelaide area and five in rural South Australia. Government agencies will use these 12 regions as the basis for reporting and for planning. Over time, the regions will become increasingly relevant to the way in which Government delivers its services, especially outside Adelaide. The Strategic Plan uses the 12 regions as a basis for ‘regionalising’ the Plan and, related government processes (e.g. on land use development, or for other regional initiatives or programs) will now be done on a similar basis.
